Hi Everyone,

I am relatively new to playing golf in Norway and understand handicap system is slightly different to what im used to in the UK. My handicap is currently 45(play off 28 in UK) on Golfbox in Norway, I have only added two scores last season which where played with the greenkeeper in Bodø so I am used him as a marker.

I have a few questions hope you guys can help.

1. Must I have a markers member number each time I enter a round?
2. Will my handicap reduce if I shoot a low round which does not have a marker(solo round)?
3. Must I enter three 18 hole cards a season to retain my membership with NGF/Golfbox?

3. No as vegiss says, however, you have to enter four rounds each year to be able to play tournaments next year.

This is not accurate. There are two "types" of handicaps now:
- EGA Tournament Handicap. You need 4 registered rounds each year to maintain this
- EGA Handicap. No requirements to number of rounds registered.

The Tournament Committee decides whether a tournament will require EGA Tournament Handicap or EGA Handicap.
The only tournaments that I've seen (so far) require EGA Tournament Handicap are the Nordea Pairs regional and national finals.

That is a shame I cannot enter my scores on my own for the first few rounds. Anybody care to lend me their membership number and be my marker?

Why Don't you just sign up for a flight with some other people in them and use one of them as a marker
